About Maketawa Museum

Four years ago off the back of his dairy farm Barry Bishop started the Maketawa John Deere Museum full of vintage classic John Deere Machinery, this museum has become his hobby and passion.

About Barry Bishop

When Barry was farming, the first tractor he had was a John Deere and throughout his career he had about seven-eight of them. Barry currently works truck driving for his own business transporting palm kernel, fertilizer, and metal cartage. Four years ago off the back of his dairy farm Barry Bishop started the Maketawa John Deere Museum full of vintage classic John Deere Machinery, this museum has become his hobby and passion. Barry’s vision for the museum is total enjoyment and fascination for John Deere, the future vision is to display for the public and watch the public’s reaction. Barry says watching people come through so far has been “tremendous and fantastic.”
